New Yorkers United for Justice is New York State’s leading criminal justice reform coalition, comprised of more than a dozen local and national organizations on the forefront of public policy, civil rights, and legal advocacy.

590films was brought in by our partner SKDK to produce a series of digital ads supporting NYUJ’s work around clemency and discovery laws.

The centerpiece of our video work was profiling Michael Morton, a texan who was wrongly imprisoned for 25 years due to his prosecutor withholding evidence at his trial. In this spot, Michael urges New Yorkers to fight to prevent similar injustice in New York State.

We also produced a series called Justice of All, profiling four individuals granted clemency to urge NYS Governor Andrew Cuomo to exercise the fair and safe use of his executive clemency powers to deserving New Yorkers who have turned their lives around. Executive clemency is about giving a second chance to rehabilitated individuals and reuniting families.
